What Does It To Take For A Second Chance?

Have you picked up on the new Domino's Pizza campaign?   If you haven't, you may want to check it out here.

Essentially, the video that describes it, is about how Domino's is listening to their critics and how they have revamped their pizza.     The bottom line is they are urging consumers to take another look.      The whole campaign conveys a transparency of their process, including "live" comments on their website that appeared to be unfiltered and not exactly flattering.

I don't know how the PR team will be graded in the end, but it did make me stop and think.    Like most commercials, I wasn't conscious of the brand and thought first it was Pizza Hut.      Either way, I am not a regular customer of either - been there, done that.

Yet, it is intriguing for a company to ask for another shot in such a bold way.     While I had shut out these brands for years, I was amazed how little convincing I needed to try again.    So what does it take to get people to take a second chance?   I was definitely ready, after all, weren't they trying to be better?    It is possible it could be appealing in taste and price.

2008 and 2009 were not easy years in business, with nearly every assumption of business being challenged. Your business may have experienced shortcomings, as a result, but it is a new year and a new decade.         Maybe asking for forgiveness and offering a commitment of improvement will go along way.   Remember we've all been in the same boat of challenges this past couple of years.    Maybe a simple request to clients to come back is a perfect marketing strategy.

Domino's here I come.
