If it is grown in Alaska, is it still agriculture?

The good news is that fertilizer prices haven't doubled, the bad news is that its still a high price to fertilize the hay fields and try to make a profit with either hay or livestock.

Why not go organic?  It'd take a tremendous base of organic fertilizer that we don't have at this time.  I wonder more about the fertilizer used from fish products that is more common in the areas located by the ocean.

It's February in Alaska and that means those of us in agriculture are thinking of spring.  There may be 2 feet of snow on the ground, it may have been -60oF 5 weeks ago but we have more daylight hours and that brings excitement to purchase what is needed for the greenhouses, gardens, livestock and crops.
