The value of food has long been taken for granted as has the fuel we use.  Being conservative and conscientious with how we spend our time and our money can make the planet and us healthier. In Europe where the cost of fuel has been over $8.00 a gallon for years, the population was forced into buying small, gas efficient cars; hence they have cleaned up the air quality and developed more communal types of transportation.  As we make choices to reduce our consumption thereby conserving our dollars, we will see our carbon foot print reduced, making our world a cleaner place to live. Valuing and supporting our local food produces will also lead to a more nutritious diet and a healthier local economy.  For too long; the value of quality food has been devalued and the family farmer been pushed off their land. The time has come to take control of our vulnerable food supply.

We have become complacent as a nation and reliant on factory farming which is harsh on our health and the health of the planet.
