Our food & water supply are our life line. Throw in some clean air and companionship and you build community.

As we all know there is more to community, yet the elements of nature have been un-webed from society for decades and we have lost our ability to feed ourselves. If we want community we need to survive. Alaska is a very independent place to live and many of us were attracted to this magnificent frontier because, "our way of life -was our way of life." It is worth acknowledging the power of shared voices, shared ownership, shared  practices, shared collaborative efforts, which enables a synergy that leads to the greatest profits of all - a safe, self-sufficient future. I look forward to moving forward with Alaskans to sustain a life style that works in harmony with nature,  and a world  that my child is proud to collaborate in.

A valuable use of your time - Listen to what Rob Hopkins has to say. Rob Hopkins You Tube Video.  He started the first Transition Town in the UK.   He is a smart, spirited man who has shaped his whole life on solutions- completely inspiring. It would be wise to implement many of the solutions he suggests, in our business relationships and practices and in our lifestyle- - transitioning Alaska 'back to the future," when homesteading was popular and practical - add some business savvy to these basic common sense principles and we just might pull out of this mess.

Keeping each other informed and sharing the knowledge continues to be powerful.
Look forward to hearing from you.
In Good Taste,
Donna
