Naturland’s producers and processors work to the highest organic standards, which are even more stringent than those of the German national eco label, Bio-Siegel. They produce high-quality foodstuffs without recourse to genetic engineering – safeguarding both the environment and the consumer. Naturland is involved in much more than the production of foodstuffs, venturing, for example, into the areas of organic forestry management, textiles and cosmetics.
The Naturland Association and its certification system have been accredited by IFOAM, USDA/NOP and under DIN EN 45011 (ISO 65). Annual assessments are made to confirm IFOAM- and ISO 65 accreditation. Naturland was the first and so far is the only German organic agricultural association to receive accreditation by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).
Penetration into new fields of operation has been part of the mission of Naturland’s farmers, processors and staff since Naturland’s establishment. Organic aquaculture is developing into a large growth market throughout the world. Naturland has been the driving force in many areas of organic fish and organic seafood. Since the mid-nineties, we are very successfully conducting Organic Aquaculture projects, always with the focus on certification against specific and detailed standards. A recently started initiative is "Naturland Wildfish" - the certification of sustainable capture fishery.
